BMW is the benchmark ECU tuning platform worldwide. The N20, N55, B48, B58, S55 and S58 engine families are among the most extensively mapped and best-understood engines in the tuning industry, with a wealth of real-world data confirming consistent, repeatable results.
The BMW B58 3.0-litre inline-six is widely considered one of the best tuning engines ever built. Stage 1 on the 340i, 440i, 540i and M240i yields +50–80 Nm and +40–60 hp. The S55 in the M3/M4 and S58 in the M3 Competition and M4 Competition also respond strongly, pushing well beyond 500 hp with supporting mods.
