Mazda's SKYACTIV-G petrol and SKYACTIV-D diesel engines are optimized primarily for efficiency, leaving meaningful performance reserves accessible via ECU tuning. The turbocharged 2.5T SkyActiv-G and 3.3 SkyActiv-D six-cylinder are the strongest candidates.
The Mazda CX-5 and CX-60 with the 2.5T petrol respond to Stage 1 with +30–45 Nm and improved low-end torque. The 3.3 SkyActiv-D straight-six diesel in the CX-60 delivers +50–70 Nm. Standard SKYACTIV-G models show more moderate gains but improved response.
Mazda ECU tuning is performed via OBD port. SKYACTIV-D diesel models show the strongest results. All calibrations preserve Mazda's i-Activ AWD and drive mode systems. Fully reversible.
